AARAKSHAN Full Review

Aarakshan

One more film on social issues of India. It's a high voltage drama based on the controversial policies of caste based reservations in educational institutions and government jobs.Directed by Prakash Jha "Aarakshan(आरक्षण)" is an upcoming hindi socio/political drama.Prakash Jha is known for making issue-based movies.Raajneeti (2010),Apaharan (2005),Gangaajal (2003) were some of his previously released films as director.Amitabh Bachchan,Manoj Bajpayee,Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone will be seen as lead characters in Aarakshan.

Centered on one of the most controversial issues of the supreme court's order on reservations, Aarakshan is the story of a legendary idealistic college principal Prabhakar Anand(Amitabh Bachchan) who single handedly turned his college into the state's best.Deepak Kumar(Saif Ali Khan) is his loyal disciple who can do anything for his sir.Poorbi(Deepika Padukone) is Prabhakar's daughter and Deepak's love interest.Sushant(Prateik Babbar) is Deepak's friend. This is the story of love, loyalty, friendship and dreams, but suddenly the story turns into a high voltage drama of conflict and rebellion, which tests their love, friendship and loyalty to each other.
Aarakshan

In the first week of May 2011, civic authorities in Bhopal bulldozed the sets of Aarakshan because it was erected on disputed land, upsetting director Prakash Jha.The director was upset over this matter because it would have been deconstructed in few days since it was a temporary set. Some pro-Dalit groups in Kanpur protested Saif Ali Khan being casted in the role of a Dalit. They objected to the actor's royal background and saw his role of a so-called-Dalit as an insult to the community. There's a dialogue in the movie where Big B says "इस देश मे दो भारत बसते हैं",isn't it true??See it yourself in the trailer below.
