Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes Exclusive

This is the world-exclusive process shot which reveals how Weta Digital(The same people who created Golum in Lord of the Rings, King-Kong and Avatar's Navi)transformed Andy Serkis(Lord of Motion capture) into a genetically enhanced Chimp who in Rupert Wyatt's prequel to Planet of the Apes franchise kicks off the world changing events that will one day lead to the devastation of the humanity. The first image is where the motion or performance of Andy Serkis was captured. The second image is the 3d or computer generated photorealistic ape character of Andy which acts exactly the way Andy Serkis performs in realtime. The third image is the 3d model with computer generated fur.The last one is the final composed image or the final look. It's breathtaking...isn't it?

The performance of Serkis was captured in full Weta created photo realistic ape mode at Weta Digital's base in Wellington,New Zealand. It's really impressive work, another leap forward for Weta after the achievement of Lord of the Rings and James Cameron's Avatar. This is the first movie to pull off perfomance or motion capture in an entirely live-action or real world setting.

I loved all the Planet of the Ape movies ... can't wait now for this new one, didn't know anything about it till now. The apes knew about our unhealthy eating habits.A quote from Dr. Zaius: "Dr. Zira, I must caution you. Experimental brain surgery on these creatures is one thing, and I'm all in favor of it. But your behavior studies are another matter. To suggest that we can learn anything about the simian nature from a study of man is sheer nonsense. Why, man is a nuisance. He eats up his food supply in the forest, then migrates to our green belts and ravages our crops. The sooner he is exterminated, the better. It's a question of simian survival".
