Amitabh Bachchan's Hollywood Debut


He is 68 year old and all set for his debut in Hollywood.I am talking about the most versatile actor of Indian Cinema history Dr.Amitabh Bachchan.The star who gave a new face to Indian cinema is ready for his first Hollywood film with non other than Leonardo DiCaprio.According to Warner Bros. this film is a new adaptation of cult novel "The Great Gatsby" which was written by American author F.Scott Fitzgerald and was published in the year 1925 .

Warner Bros. says that Amitabh Bachchan is playing Meyer Wolfsheim, a crime figure who helps the mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby make his money.Leonardo plays the lead role of Jay Gatsby and British actress Mulligan plays his love interest.

With a budget of over $150 Million the film is a 3d adaptation of the novel and started filming this week in Australia.Amitabh Bachchan also joined the cast and is currently shooting for the film.Australian Director Baz Luhrmann is directing the film and the film also stars Spiderman star Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway.

The release date of the movie is yet to be confirmed.

This is a must see for me. One of my fave authors and movies. Robert Redford was wonderful in the role when he played it. This version may be even better!
